On Saturday, July 26, a small group of people gathered along Highway 61 in Grand Marais to show their support for the people of Palestine who have been caught in the middle of a war between Israel and Hamas (the Islamic Resistance Movement). This Palestinian Sunni military/sociopolitical movement operates mainly in the Gaza Strip. Because of the fighting, aid organizations are having a hard time delivering food to the Palestinian people, many of whom are without housing and are starving and suffering from disease because of the lack of medicine and hospitals.
