Gypsy is the pet of Rueben, age 5, and Indigo, age 10. A bit of a renegade, Gypsy is sweet as pie one minute, nudging for pets and begging for sweet words, and then, when she tires of pets and compliments, WHAP! Just like that, she may swipe you with a paw. With the kids, her claws are in. With adults, claws are out, as I can attest to after I visit with my grandkids this weekend. Still, she is smart enough to know that when she lashes out, it's time for a timeout in the basement, and she will head that way with little prompting but beg to be let out after a minute or so when she decides to be good.
