Come celebrate two lives well lived!

Robert (Jerry to all) Carpenter passed away on October 13, 2022, in Duluth from Alzheimer’s. His wife Lorraine preceded him in death on June 19, 2012, after a hard battle with cancer. Daughter Rita Rhoades preceded Jerry in death, and Jerry and Lorraine are survived by a son, Bob.

Jerry was born in 1933 and, after working in sales, was a bush pilot in Alaska. He initially moved south to his cabin on Seagull Lake in his off-season during winters. Lorraine was born in 1935 and was a nurse in Sitka, Alaska. She retired and joined Jerry, and they made their Seagull Lake cabin their home for almost/over (??) 20 years. Both Jerry and Lorraine were cherished neighbors and friends to many who lived on the Gunflint Trail.

We invite their many friends, neighbors, and loved ones to come celebrate their lives on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at the Seagull Lake Community Center, located on Seagull Lake Access Road next to Gunflint Fire Hall 3 off the Gunflint Trail.
