The community is invited to the memorial service for Roger A. MacDonald, M.D. on Saturday, May 18 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Grand Marais, Minnesota. Roger was a family physician from 1948 to 1980s including 22 years in Cook County. When he retired from clinical practice, he moved to White Bear Lake and became associate director of Rural Physicians Associate Program, (RPAP) until the 1990’s. He returned to Grand Marais after retiring from teaching and embarked on a new career of writing. He chronicled three memoirs called the “Country Doc” stories which became published works.

Roger died on June 21, 2023.

A light lunch will be served following the memorial service and all are invited. Roger is interned at Maple Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the North Shore Health Care Foundation.
