Shirley Mae (Johnson) Kerr

Shirley Mae (Johnson) Kerr passed away on September 29, 2025 with family by her side.

She spent her childhood growing up on Devils Track River where she marveled at the beauty of Lake Superior.

Shirley’s whole life was devoted to her family and friends. She raised four children while working her entire business career with the Bell Telephone System.

She spent her retirement years with her husband visiting family all over the country and enjoyed life on Lake Anna, Virginia. Shirley designed and supervised construction of their retirement home. There she enjoyed gardening, golfing, playing bridge, gathering with her neighbors and going on cruises with a group of friends form the lake and local golf club. She was also so active in the neighborhood home owners association becoming the first ever president of the association.

Shirley is survived by her husband of 58 years Richard L. Kerr, her brother Walter, (Linda) Johnson, sons Scott (Judy), Rocky (Crystal), Todd (Pat) and daughter, Renee (Randy). She was blessed with nine grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.

Per her request there will be a private family gathering to honor her life and legacy.
