Todd Arthur Danielson

It is with great sorrow that we, his family, announce the passing of Todd Arthur Danielson on September 24th, 2025 after a lengthy illness. Also known as “Zoom” and “Cowboy Todd”, he was born on December 26th, 1952.

As a child, Todd always hated his birthday being so close to Christmas as instead of a birthday gift, he was always promised a bigger Christmas gift! Todd attended school in Stillwater, MN. He very much loved his horse Brownie. He raised chickens, sold the eggs, and trapped gophers on the farm owned by his parents. Todd also worked in the Stillwater area for several years doing various types of work.

Todd’s parents bought Seagull Resort on Seagull Lake up the Gunflint Trail, near Grand Marais, MN at which he spent a lot of time with family and discovering the joys of fishing, the outdoors and music. Todd enjoyed writing songs and loved playing the guitar. He was quite good at it too!

He then discovered Alaska where he worked as a deckhand, long-line fisherman/ crabber, and later an engineer on the commercial boats. His passion was Alaska and he often regaled stories of his adventures so far North.

Todd also spent a lot of time in Arizona and had a zeal for gold panning. He certainly enjoyed telling us beginners how to succeed at it! Todd was also a horse wrangler for a ranch leading long distance rides and taking care of the stock.

He eventually returned to Grand Marais, MN, where he did various jobs until health issues forced him to retire.

Family memorabilia was also a great passion of Todd’s. He kept many photographs, films, and a majority of family history organized and safely in his home.

Todd was predeceased by his parents Alton John Danielson and Lois Elaine Kent, Brother and Sister-In-Law Kim and Paula Danielson, and Nephew Shane Arthur Danielson.

Survived by his Daughter Heidi Howard Roettger (Jason), Sisters Chris Conlan (Mike), Becky Wittig (Joe), Brothers Randy Danielson (Brenda), Alt Danielson (Alex), numerous nieces and nephews, grandchildren and long time friend and companion Rosa Medina.

As per his request, Todd was cremated and there will not be a service or internment.
