Tonna Lorraine Goettl age 60, died after an aggressive form of cancer on August 29, 2025. She leaves behind a legacy of honesty, warmth, and fierce love.

Tonna was an open book—never one to hold back how she felt, she wore her heart on her sleeve. Those who knew her never had to guess where they stood, and they never had to question how deeply she loved them.

Her life’s work was rooted in caring for others. Taking care of people was her superpower, and she did it with a blend of strength, compassion, and wit that left an imprint on countless lives. But, above all she cherished her relationship with God, walking each step of her journey with unwavering faith and trust in his promises.

“Praise the lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the lord my soul, and forget not all his benefits-who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagles.”

Psalms 103:1-5 She is preceded in death by her mother, June Glenn; grandmother, Fern Aplin; nephew, Jette Frandson; and beloved dog, Jayla.

Survived by children, Ryan (Shekiera) Goettl, Ashley (Chris) Liskiewicz, and Megan Goettl; grandchildren, Daylin, Tylar, Aiden, Ashlen, Hendricks, Collins, Everly, Kadence, and Bryson; sister, Krystyne (Kevin) Frandson; aunts and uncles, Teri (Juel) Salveson, Billy Aplin, Debbie (Doug) Theilbar, and Barb Cleaver, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service Saturday, October 4, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. with a visitation starting at 1:00 p.m. in Zoar Lutheran Church, 7241 MN-61, Tofte, MN 55615.
