William Leonard Shaffer passed away peacefully on November 10, 2024, at the age of 82. Born on July 11, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois, Bill’s life was characterized by his unyielding spirit, his hearty laugh, and his boundless love for his family and friends.

A beloved husband to Susan, devoted father to Eric and Shari, to Rebecca and David, and to Michelle and Justin, grandfather to Vaughn, Alyssa, Holly, Gwenivere, Noah, Jake, Juliet, and Marie.

A union carpenter, Air Force veteran and an amazing performer, his quick wit and masterful delivery of jokes could light up any room. He loved fishing, was a scholar of World War 2 history and touched the lives of many as a brother, uncle, and friend.
