A week or so ago, Cook County Chamber of Commerce Director Linda Kratt (on the left) and Cook County EDA Director Theresa Bajda, on the left, met with District 3B Rep. Natalie Zsleznikar at the Capitol. A big part of the Chamber of Commerce is advocacy work done at the State Capitol for local businesses, non-profits, and the community. During this legislative session the Chamber is seeking 2.5 million in funding for the North Shore Waste Transfer Station, along with seeking funding for several Cook County Historical Society design, construct, furnish and equip the renovation projects, which includes the following historical Cook County sites: Cook county History Museum ($326,000), Johnson Heritage Post Gallery ($75,000), Bill Bally Blacksmith Shop ($94,000), St. Francis Xavier Church (Chippewa City Church) $394,000; 1930's Nee-Gee Fishing Tug and Fish House ($394,000), and Archival Storage Facility ($685,300).
