What do Cook County residents think about their internet access? On behalf of the Department of Employment and Economic Development Office of Broadband Development (OBD), Wilderness Health listened and surveyed Cook County residents as part of a statewide plan to understand the stories behind internet and digital access.

Representatives from the Cook County/Grand Marais EDA came before the Cook County Commissioners on Tuesday, September 26, to present their 2024 proposed budget and levy. While the EDA has the authority to levy and the budget is separate from the county budget, the commissioners must approve the levy before September 30, 2023.
Public meeting to be held at Grand Portage State Park to discuss potential impacts of expanding and modernizing the Grand Portage Land Port of Entry Before an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) is prepared to analyze the potential impacts resulting from the modernization and expansion of the Grand Portage Port of Entry, the public is encouraged to attend and participate in a scoping meeting held to gather input on what resources are important to the public, which will determine the scope of the EIS. The site expansion will take place on approximately 2.34 acres, for a total footprint of about eight (8) acres.

The North Shore Storm cross country team traveled to Grand Rapids to compete in the Grand Rapids Invitational held September 19. Head Coach April Walhstrom said, “We had our varsity kids do some pacing to the others to help them run faster times. Lots of kids had fun with that.”
