Grand Marais City Council decided to go with geothermal heat for the proposed new city building
North House Folk School Director Greg Wright came before the Grand Marais City Council last Wednesday with a request to allow North House to share a sewer line with Angry Trout restaurant for the new building coming up and to hardscape a path that would be on city property that would lead to the main campus and the lakefront. He also requested North House be allowed to landscape around the new building on leased city property adjacent to their new building.

Despite the rain and windy conditions last Thursday, October 26, the large meeting room at North Shore Health filled up as civic, business, and public members came to participate in Senator Grant Hauschild's (DFL-Hermantown) 'Northland Strong' meeting. The state senator has scheduled meetings across the Northland aimed at helping him understand what the community's concerns are over healthcare, housing, daycare, jobs, etc., how Minnesota's regulatory environment affects us, and how best to make the private/public sector work efficiently.

For the first time, the annual fall gala was held right in Grand Marais at the refreshed event center Up Yonder which also happened to win the Business of the Year award.
Vikings ousted from Playoffs by MIB
The Cook County Vikings ran into a bee's nest in their second round of Section 7A nine-man playoffs when they traveled to play the defending state nineman champions, Mountain Iron-Buhl, last Saturday.
