A recent tragedy this past summer served as the impetus that will benefit the local Search and Rescue (SAR) department, the Emergency Medical System (EMS) and our local guests and residents. In 2023, numerous water fatalities plagued the Arrowhead region, three of them in Cook County.

Last winter our community hosted a group of international journalists with the World Press Institute, and one of them, believe it or not, worked for the BBC as a “Disinformation Specialist.” What??? Misinformation is defined as inaccuracies that stem from inadvertent error, sort of like gossip based on a truth.
