Celebration planned for Rev. Roger Livdahl

Beginning Easter Sunday, March 31, 2024, Salem English Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota is launching a storytelling and fundraising campaign event in celebration of Rev. Roger Livdahl’s six decades of ministry and the 50th Anniversary of ELCA World Hunger and its predecessor organizations. Spanning seven weeks, the event will feature: Remembrances from his 65 years of servant leadership—including his ministry with ELCA World Hunger—during Salem’s Sunday worship services and through online channels.

There are those out there who either need a reading comprehension class, or just like to twist words to vilify people who disagree with certain directives. I'm thinking most are in the latter category, but for those in the former category I’m going to type this letter very slowly. School board passes 2023-202 employment agreements for unaffiliated employees

Two DSGW employees, John and Natalie, appeared before the school board on March 21 to give an update about plans to update the school facilities and grounds. John said DSGW is starting to develop plans for walls, the relationship of spaces, and how the school functions, but he added that nothing will be finalized until a referendum is passed.

IRRRB funds multiple housing infrastructure projects through grants

The Iron Range Resources & Rehabilitation Board (IRRRB) generously made large grants to Cook County business and housing projects at the IRRRB's March 26 board meeting. In total, the IRRRB distributed $9.5 million in economic funding across northeastern Minnesota to businesses and communities to fund broadband, housing, and outdoor recreation opportunities, with Cook County receiving five grants.

Melissa Brown, Grand Portage, was named to the President's List at Pine Technical and Community College. Students named to the President's List must have enrolled in 12 credits or more and received a grade point average of 4.0, a straight A average.
