Rare bird spotted in Cook County
The first is probably the rarest bird we have ever seen at our place in Lutsen. We had a huge invasion of Yellowrumped Warblers migrating through the North Shore last weekend. Embedded with them on May 5th was this outof- range 'Audubon's' Yellow-rumped Warbler, a subspecies that breeds in the mountains of the western U.S. and British Columbia. The most notable difference is that the 'Audubon's' has a yellow throat, while the eastern 'Myrtle' subspecies that we are more familiar with has a white throat.
Mystery of the fireplace
Butch Schulte was grouse hunting several years ago when he came upon a fireplace standing like a lone sentinel in the woods. Over the last two years or so, Butch has mentioned the fireplace in passing before deciding it was time to go find it again.

David Revier
David Joseph Revier, Age 60 of White Bear Lake, MN passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 30th, 2023. Preceded in death by Father Lloyd. Survived by Mother Priscilla; siblings Sherry (Ryan), Butch (Bruce), Kenny, Tommy (Leanna), and Robby; children Matt (Jenna), Shawn (Jenna), Brad, and Jessie; grandchildren Madelyn, Jayda, Macy, Chloe, Jayce, Jordyn, Cooper, and Jasmine; mother of his children Theresa and many other close family and friends.
