Let’s Plant Trees assists property owners with reforestation by providing free native Minnesota tree seedlings, along with information about how, when, and where to plant them.
Join the Arrowhead Eagles Aviation Organization for its 14th Annual Meeting, Saturday May 18th at Noon at Skyport Lodge on Devil Track Lake. After a short business meeting and annual report to its members, the Eagles Board of Directors will announce the winner of the 2024 Aviation Scholarship. Following will be a social time where lunch and refreshments are available for purchase. At 1:00 p.m. will be the debut of a Youtube Video produced by the Eagles to help support and promote the Grand Marais/Cook County Airport. Afterwards will be a presentation from longtime Agriculture Pilot, Chuck Lewer, who will share stories and adventures of being an Ag Pilot and Flying Behind Radial Engines.
With anglers, boaters, and paddlers taking advantage of the early ice-out across much of Minnesota, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is reminding anyone spending time around lakes, rivers, and ponds that water temperatures remain extremely low and unexpected falls can turn tragic.

The Violence Prevention Center’s new annual film fundraiser, Beyond the Reel, will take place on Sunday, May 19th at 3 p.m. at the Arrowhead Center for the Arts. The event is reminiscent of past LUNAFEST film events, but with a few new twists.
Construction to align a portion of Mile Creek Road and construct a new bridge over Grand Portage Creek will begin on May 28, 2024, with anticipated completion in Fall 2024. The National Park Service published a Finding of No Significance Impact (FONSI) for the project on March 21, 2023.
The Bike Safety Rodeo has become a much loved and anticipated annual event in Grand Marais, bringing families and children from across the county together to help kids learn how to bike safely. Each year this event is possible thanks to community volunteers and this year, we need you! Over twenty volunteers are needed to make this event happen and there are still many roles available.
