It was 55 years ago, in 1969, that the Memorial Rose Garden came to be. It was originally planted in the triangle near the intersection of Third Avenue West and Wisconsin Street before being moved to its new location in 1982, with the edging and walkway added in 2008. Each year, the garden has entranced residents and visitors alike with its spectacular blooms. And each year, Grand Marais Garden Club volunteers carefully tend to its needs, ensuring it will remain a focal point of vibrancy and color for all to enjoy for this year and for the many years to come.
