BRIAN LARSEN On a cool, drizzly, windat- your-back day, many runners set personal bests (PBs) at the 48th running of Grandma's Marathon held on Saturday, June 22. There were 7,543 finishers- 4,386 men, 3,132 women, and 22 non-binary runners that completed the 26.2 mile Grandma's Marathon.
Following the big storm last week the Superior National Forest staff has identified pockets of moderate to high severity wind-damaged vegetation resulting from recent storm activity on the eastern side of the Forest on the Gunflint and Tofte Districts.

Invasive plants can be quite the contentious topic and we all have our own views and experiences with them. This week, however, I invite you to maybe consider things from a different viewpoint. What if invasive plants are not “bad,” but simply misunderstood? Many of these “invasives” can be used as a food and are medicine for us humans and the earth. How can we even define what is invasive? No matter your final opinion, I hope that maybe this piece can help you to pull the Dandelions with a bit more curiosity and kindness, even if they do not end up on your dinner plate.
