BRIAN LARSEN Council approved a conditional use permit for Josh Lindstrom to build an accessory employee residence on Lot 6 Block 7 Cedar Grove Lane in the Cedar Grove Business Park in conjunction with a coffee roasting facility. Josh, the owner of Fika Coffee, is building a light manufacturing facility for roasting coffee.

Judith (Judy) Stone, 74, of Roseville, Minnesota, passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, June 16, 2024 surrounded by family. Judy was born in 1949 to Merton and Lenore Denelsbeck of Canby, Minnesota.
BRIAN LARSEN The epic June 18-19 rainfall that swept across the Northland caused flooding, fallen trees, road washouts, power outages, and other damage to Cook County; in some places, it hit very hard. Cook County Emergency Director Mike Keyport and Highway Engineer Robbie Hass appeared before the county board on Tuesday, June 25, to present an update on the June 18-19 storm damage and the county's response.
BRIAN LARSEN A childhood playground will soon be the sight of a Scandinavianthemed housing site. Big Birch Mountain, a popular sliding hill for kids and magical woods filled with multiple places to build forts, a place to explore the mysteries of bugs, beetles, ants, and small mammals like chipmunks and squirrels, will become home to folks who want to live in the woods in the town of Grand Marais.
The 2024 much-anticipated family-friendly annual North House Wooden Boat Show and Summer Solstice Pageant drew large numbers over the weekend, with many kids taking part. Despite the rain on Saturday evening, the Summer Solstice pageant was well attended.
