Sawtooth Mountain Clinic Receives Substantial Grant to Expand Behavioral Health Services

(GRAND MARIAS, MN – October 1, 2024) - Sawtooth Mountain Clinic (SMC) recently received a grant award to support expansion of behavioral health services. The grant funding comes from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), an agency within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). SMC will receive over $900,000 between now and August of 2026 to expand access to services such as outpatient therapy, substance use treatment, and recovery support.

Planes, Pilots and Pancakes

On a cool Saturday morning, September 28, members of the Arrowhead Eagles and the Cook County Airport Commission pulled up to a hangar just east of the arrival/departure building to fire up the grills and griddles around 7:00 a.m. Plates, napkins and silverware rested on an airplane wing (balanced on two sawhorses) which acted as a serving table. The hangar door was down, filling the hangar with the aroma of pancakes and sausage links. While enjoying the smell of hot blueberry pancakes, card tables were put up, covered with tablecloths, and stacked with Arrowhead Eagles t-shirts and copies of Kathrn Krotz-Finn’s book, Chasing the North Wind.
