A Vision for a Strong Future for North Shore Health

Beloved Cook County Visitors and Neighbors: Thanks to you, Letteracy Deck–the free public letter-writing park in downtown Grand Marais–ended its second season Monday Oct. 28 by mailing the 7,115th letter/ card over a two-year period!

I’m supporting Ann Sullivan for District 4 Commissioner for many reasons including her experience as a District 4 representative and her thoughtful and inclusive leadership style. I’d like to highlight another important reason that I support Ann’s campaign, her commitment to the environment and specifically to addressing climate change.

Please be aware that under Project 2025 public lands and waters in the United States could be for sale to the highest bidder. This could have a devastating effect on our local tourist trade and economy.

It is astounding, ironic, and utterly despicable that people we’ve elected — and whom we rely on to serve the public interest — are actively working to undermine trust in our government. These are people like Roger Skraba and Pete Stauber, who are too cowardly to condemn Trump’s pathetic claims of a “stolen” election.
