Sawtooth Mountain Clinic Welcomes New Behavioral Health Director
(Grand Marais, MN – February 26, 2025) Sawtooth Mountain Clinic (SMC) is pleased to welcome Cecilia Bloomquist, LICSW as our new Behavioral Health Director. Cecilia is a Licensed Independent Social Worker who is joining the team as part of our behavioral health service expansion. SMC CEO Kate Surbaugh notes “We are thrilled to welcome Cecilia to the SMC team. In recent years, SMC has strategically grown the behavioral health department to meet changing community needs. Cecilia’s professional experience, combined with her knowledge of Cook County, make her the perfect candidate to lead the behavioral health team into the future.” Originally from Brazil, Cecilia moved to Cook County in 2008 and earned her degree in Social Work from University of Minnesota – Duluth in 2012. She has over 10 years of experience as a clinical supervisor, leading behavioral health teams at HealthPartners and HDC in both Grand Marais and Two Harbors. Most recently, she served as Associated Director of Clinical Mental Health Services at Boynton Health, University of Minnesota.
County board passes and ordinance for establishing rates and charges for solid waste management services
Following a public hearing held on March 11 at 10 a.m. to hear the public’s views about establishing rates and charges for solid waste management services provided by the County, Cook County Commissioners voted to use the 'primary tax classification of each parcel of real and personal property within the CountyCounty as determined on January 2 of the preceding assessment year as hereinafter set forth: The tax parcels have a primary classification of 4a—Apartment; 1c— Homestead Resort; l4c (1)— Seasonal Recreation Resort; 4c (2)—Qualifying Golf Course and 4c (9)—Bed & Breakfast; 4c (10)—Seasonal Restaurant on a Lake; and 3a—Commercial, Industrial, & Utility.
