Watch out for this Medicare scam
Another scam is being perpetrated on the Medicare population only this one does not ask for money out of your immediate pocket, but you do pay for it. Here goes: We got a phone call that asked if our package had arrived yet. What package we asked, 'Because we are under 85 and on Medicare, we are eligible for FREE therapeutic bands for our lower back pain, knees, shoulders, and we aren't sure what else. No cost to ship. Medicare covers the cost because of our age.' STOP We asked why we were getting theseagain, because of our age and Medicare. And remember, there's no cost.

I can’t imagine what planet Pete Stauber is living on. In his letter to the editor last week (03-21-2025) he states, “Rest assured, the Republican majority in congress will not be deterred. We will continue delivering the President’s popular agenda for the American people.” Popular?? With who? Billionaires? Bought-and-paid-for Senators like himself?

Cook County Board of Commissioners hires Rena Rogers as Interim County Administrator
The Cook County Board of Commissioners met on Tuesday, March 25, to discuss, among other matters of business, hiring an interim county administrator to replace Rowan Watkins, who has served the last six months as the interim county administrator while the search goes on to replace James Joerke, the former county administrator who left last fall in the wake of a family emergency back to Kansas.
