Paul Dorr, a 6'4' right-handed pitcher for Benedictine College in Atchinson, Kansas, played a pivotal role in the recent game, earning the title of Player of the Game. Boys fall to Barnum
In a close contest, the Cook County boys’ high school baseball team traveled to Barnum on Wednesday, April 16 and lost by one run, 11-10 to the Bombers.
Public Hearing to be held on the Bjorkberg housing development
Despite the Grand Marais City Council voting 3-2 last August to deny Bjorkberg Grand Marais a conditional use permit to hook up to city water and sewer, Jon Petters, the primary developer of Bjorkberg, has requested a public hearing. This hearing is an opportunity for the community to voice their concerns and opinions both pro-and con-- on the housing proposal.
Wahlers posts a fine finish at the Boston Marathon
Wearing bib 16,124, Reilly Wahlers, 24, of Grand Marais, finished the 2025 Boston Marathon in 3:33:26, a pace of 8:09 per mile for the 26.2-mile race.
Grand Marais Art Colony and Sawtooth Mountain Elementary Partnership
Each year the Art Colony hosts Sawtooth Elementary Kindergarten - Second Graders for Art Days, and it is just how it sounds! The students explore various art materials, work on projects, and learn creative techniques. Then they get to exhibit their work and share it with the community. The art projects are also oriented around elementary learning goals and standards when possible.
