Brea Boomer, a local resident from Grand Portage, was among the finishers of the Garry Bjorklund half marathon held in Duluth on June 21. At 32, she completed the 13.1-mile race in 1:59:12, maintaining a 9:06-mile pace. Her impressive performance placed her at 2,373 out of 8,249 finishers and 973 out of 4,917 women runners.
The North House Wooden Boat Show and Summer Solstice Puppet Pageant were once again a big hit with locals and visitors to our area.
