Now that the J-1 workers have arrived, local businesses are better staffed than they were before these young folks departed last fall. Two churches have teamed up to offer these students meals to say thank you and greet them, as they have often traveled from very far away to arrive here.

No matter your final opinion, I hope that maybe this piece can help you to pull the Dandelions with a bit more curiosity and kindness, even if they do not end up on your dinner plate.
The long summer evening ends at dark, and our rough ritual is to do our business, I take my meds, set the alarm, me maybe reading or writing by a battery-operated reading light, Foxy tapped out finally under the bed, Daphne jumps up on the bed and gets snout-to-nose with me, and then me thinking and whispering and listening in the dark.
