Lions Host D-Feet Hearing Loss Walk

The Minnesota Lions Hearing Foundation annual walk to raise funds for research of hearing loss is set for Saturday, June 1, in Bemidji. This D-Feet Walk for Hearing Loss is a two mile walk from Diamond Point Park to the Paul & Babe statue and back. Walkup registration of $25 begins at 8:30 at Diamond Point Park with the walk starting at 9:30. Kids under 12 are free. After their walk is completed, participants will be given lunch and entertained by live music and games for kids.

Tofte Spruce Budworm Risk Reduction Project Work Begins June 1, 2024

The Superior National Forest (NF) has issued Forest Closure Order 09-0924-03 that temporarily restricts all traffic (motorized and nonmotorized) onto the 6 Hundred Rd (FR 166) from the junction of the Temperance River Road (approximately 5.15 miles northwest of State Highway 61) going east (approximately 4.9 miles to County Road 2, and the Wringer Lake Road at Wringer Lake heading south 4.4 miles to the 6 Hundred Rd. The Order goes into effect on June 1-September 10, 2024, to increase protection of Superior NF visitors and residents living in the area, increase protection of employees engaged in the various missions of the National Forest System, increase protection of natural resources, and allow emergency vehicle access.

Minnesota DNR casts around for favorite fish recipes

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is inviting anglers to share their favorite Minnesota fish recipes through the Wild Minnesota Recipe Exchange(mndnr.gov/ recipe). People can submit recipes through June 30 for the chance to be featured on DNR website and social media platforms.
