Outdoors

In search of wild ramps So many things can possess the boy blessed (or cursed) with an imagination, provided with (gratefully) great books on great shelves (including the old Encyclopaedia Britannica and Webster's dictionary), with libraries both public and scholastic, with gardens to work and watch, and fields and woods and ponds to wander around. The boy conjures up thoughts of the next habitat over - of hollows and back channels of great rivers, the homes to raccoon and mallards and swamp bucks.

Wellness

North Shore Foraging Spring has sprung and our April showers will soon bring May flowers! This not only means more colors and smells for our senses to take in while in the woods, but also opportunities to forage wild foods and medicine. Wondering 61

On that day the City and its Park & Recreation Board will be celebrating the completion of Overlook Landing, located between North House and the Rec Park. You can see the handsome, open-air structure as you drive by on Highway 61. The design has an open roof, benches to sit, and artwork in the walls inspired by George Morrison, home-grown artist.
