Maggie Smith, a Senior at Cook County High School, was the most recent recipient of the Bob Pratt Skills, Trades, & Technology Scholarship. After graduation, Maggie plans to work in Cook County as a phlebotomist. The Pratt Scholarship helped fund two phlebotomy courses at Lake Superior College. In Maggie’s words: “Receiving the Bob Pratt Scholarship has been a tremendous blessing both financially and educationally. The financial support has relieved a significant burden, allowing me to focus on my phlebotomy program without the constant worry of how to afford tuition and other expenses. On the educational front, the scholarship has opened up opportunities for me to pursue internships, attend workshops, and participate in extracurricular activities that have enriched my learning experience and helped me build a stronger foundation for my future career prospects. Overall, the Bob Pratt Scholarship has been an absolute game-changer for me, providing not only financial stability but also enhancing my overall academic journey. Thank you Cook County Higher Education!”
