IRRRB donates to the North Shore Superior Run & Ski Club

Over the last 18 months, the Iron Range Resources & Rehabilitation awarded 11 Regional Trails grants totaling $371,050. The grants were for equipment area trail clubs, communities, and volunteers used to maintain and groom trails throughout the agency's 13,000-square-mile service area.

Conservation Officer Tales

Although the Cook County News-Herald knows that the majority of sportsmen and women are law-abiding folks, there are a few that run afoul of the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Conservation Officers. Periodically, the DNR provides a report of some of the miscreants the Conservation Officers (CO) have encountered. The News-Herald shares these stories as a reminder to all to be safe and to follow the rules!

Beaver are excellent when it comes to their lumberjack/Jill woodcutting skills! This birch will soon be part of a beaver lodge or used for the dam. Between logging, building, and engineering, beavers are very capable and creative creatures of the forest.
