The Cook County Historical Society Celebrates Centennial Anniversary with Speaker Series featuring Staci Drouillard, Hazel Belvo, and Steve Hoffbeck
As Executive Director of the Cook County Housing and Redevelopment Authority, I share the commitment of the HRA Board as well as our Cook County Commissioners in helping to make housing more attainable for the people who live and work within the county. The HRA is working to expand housing options, support local residents, and to ensure that Cook County remains a place where individuals and families of all incomes can call home.
In his July 1 report to the park board Grand Marais Parks and Rec Director Dave Tersteeg said that June 2025 revenues outpaced June 2024 revenues by seven percent and that the year-todate- revenue is four percent higher than last year.

Life Time welcomed more than 2,000 cyclists to Minnesota’s North Shore for the 2025 Life Time Lutsen 99er presented by Visit Cook County on Saturday, June 28. The fourteenth annual event saw participants from ages two to 77 take on one of five events, including the 29-mile, 45-mile, 59, and signature 99-mile distances, as well as kids' races.
On Monday, June 30, at 2 p.m. Wendy Ford’s last day of owning the South of the Border Café (SOB) ended and Mark Johnson (L) and Eugene Eliasen became owners of the popular breakfast and lunch café located located in downtown Grand Marais along Highway 61.
