Nirmala Rajasekar – Carnatic Music: The Classical Music of South India

Nirmala Rajasekar is one of the premier Saraswathi veena players in the world today. A dynamic and vibrant musician, she has performed in many leading venues around the world, including Carnegie Hall and the United Nations. An established vocalist and wellknown composer, Nirmala is seen internationally as a “Carnatic Ambassador” and leader in forging new paths on the Saraswathi veena. She will be in Grand Marais on September 23 performing at 7 p.m. at the Arrowhead Center for the Arts (ACA).

20 YEARS AGO AUGUST 15, 2003 v Joan and Bill Koski, the campground hosts at Crescent Lake Campground, saw a cougar on Forest Road 170, also known as the Grade. The cougar was in no hurry, so they got a good look at it.

Moving on

Oh, to be eight again! We’re launching into week three of hosting eight-year-olds. The first was our granddaughter, Hazel, immediately followed by my grand-niece and grand-nephew, Astrid and Basil (Australian niece Laura’s twins).
