Congress removes language from a bill that could have significantly affected the BWCAW
On Tuesday, June 10, Congress struck Section 80131 from the draft budget bill. This section would have granted leased public land to Antofagasta, a London-based Chilean mining company, and would have given the courts the limited ability to review permits, meaning that the courts would have had little power to assess the environmental impact of the proposed mining operation.

Gunflint Clean Up 2025
The Gunflint Clean Up held Saturday, June 7 was a huge success!!! 95 volunteers picked up litter alongside the Gunflint Trail. Volunteers wore their blue event t-shirts and gloves and scoured the ditches helping beautify the area. Andrea Hofeldt, owner of Loon Lake Lodge, and Shari Baker, owner of Gunflint Pines organized the event trying to create more awareness of litter while creating a fun community building event.
