County board April 8 meeting

Arvis Thompson appeared before the commissioners during the public comment period on Tuesday, April 8. She thanked them for using the public process to hire a new county administrator and asked them to use this process again on the second try.

As I See It

To the (Dis) Honorable Pete Stauber This is a letter from an angry constituent who is saying STOP, STOP, STOP, STOP this insanity from the current administration. You are a part of that administration and can attempt to reinstate some sanity if you can find just a shred of your spine, your morals, and your sense of right and wrong.

Follow up on ‘Letters to Rep Stauber’

The letters from Cook County originally delivered to Rep Pete Stauber's office on March 6 are now confirmed as received! (For the origin story of their original delivery see the March 22 issue of the News Herald.) The first confirmation came via the DC area resident and cousin of this writer with whom I had left the letters who wrote: '...(my husband) and I spoke with several congressional staff members who are friends of ours to advise us on the best path forward. Indeed, due to the continued anthrax security measures, their best advice was to have the letters delivered through the internal mail service at the Capital, as there is a post office within the offices, so I'm happy to report they're safely with his staff.'
