County board makes a decision on how to fund building a County Transfer Station
BRIAN LARSEN Following up on their January 28 board meeting where it was decided to build a transfer station from concrete rather than steel, the commissioners voted Monday, February 3rd in special meeting, to pay for the bonding of the building through Ann Sullivan’s motion “to approve the classification structure to include vacant land with $50 charged to residential classifications and $100.00 to Multi-Family & Commercial classifications. David Mills seconded the motion and it was carried unanimously.

With last week’s second- place finish at the state high school alpine ski championships, it’s time to reflect on how great this team’s accomplishments were. This is a significant achievement, as it’s the best performance since 1970 when the Vikings took first at State.

Canada will re-open its Remote Area Border Crossing permits
BRIAN LARSEN On Tuesday, February 18, Canada announced that all border remote border processing permits issued after September 1, 2023, would be valid through December 31, 2025. This was good news for cabin owners, fishing guides, lodge owners and others who go back and fourth across the border.
