The Cook County Vikings girls’ team squared off at home against the Silver Bay Mariners on Monday, February 17. It was the second time the two squads had met in the last month. On January 30, the Vikings traveled to Silver Bay and lost 47-39 in a tough contest. This game would be no different, and the final results were much the same: The Vikings fell 60-47.

State and local health laws ban animals inside restaurants except for service dogs. So, if you want to eat out along The Shore, you need places that have outdoor seating. Since you haven’t already done computer searches to help you, here are many places where you can eat out with your dog. (These outdoor places are either more comfortable or closed in the winter.) We’re Off To See The Blizzard and Anthony Sledwards join the Minnesota Department of Transportations’ snowplow fleet as two of the eight winners in the 2024-25 Name a Snowplow contest. Governor Tim Walz joined MnDOT Commissioner Nancy Daubenberger to announce the winning names today. Nearly 23,500 voters cast a ballot in this year’s contest.

BRIAN LARSEN Following up on their January 28 board meeting where it was decided to build a transfer station from concrete rather than steel, the commissioners voted Monday, February 3rd in special meeting, to pay for the bonding of the building through Ann Sullivan’s motion “to approve the classification structure to include vacant land with $50 charged to residential classifications and $100.00 to Multi-Family & Commercial classifications. David Mills seconded the motion and it was carried unanimously.
