With the Federal government threatening Medicaid, Cook County Public Health and Human Services has provided a look at how many people could be impacted by any budgetary cutbacks and the Department of Human Services recently released a series of fact sheets on Medicaid or Medical Assistance in the State of Minnesota.

Recently many members of the community at the end of county 70 in Hovland received letters from COOP L&P requesting easements to allow for installation of electrical lines and broadband service. The letters state that the COOP has received federal funds to expand broadband into remote areas and this area was on the list. The area in question has no full-time residents and is comprised of nothing but 3 season cabins. While I would expect and support broadband development where it is needed, I cannot fathom using federal $ to send power and fiber into an area that will see little if any use.
Scary. Reckless. Cruel. Illegal. Dangerous. Destroying our American democracy. We must work together to stop it. Speak out. Speak up.
