Oddz & Endz Annual Payout a Testimony to Community Effort Oddz & Endz, your “more than a thrift store on the North Shore” store, proudly announces its 11th annual profits distribution of $173,731.64 to 22 Cook County Non-profits. Fortyfive adult volunteers, seven middle school parents, and six middle school students invested more than 8000 hours total in the store’s community building mission in 2024.

On Saturday, January 25, the snowmobile community gathered at Skyport Lodge & Raven Rock Grill for the inaugural event of a scintillating series of snowmobile drag races, a testament to the passion and dedication of the Cook County Snowmobile Club-Ridge Riders.
Although the Cook County News-Herald knows that the majority of sportsmen and women are law-abiding folks, there are a few that run afoul of the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Conservation Officers. Periodically, the DNR provides a report of some of the miscreants the Conservation Officers (CO) have encountered. The News-Herald shares these stories as a reminder to all to be safe and to follow the rules!
