Volunteers Needed for Bike Safety Rodeo – Thursday, May 16

The Bike Safety Rodeo has become a much loved and anticipated annual event in Grand Marais, bringing families and children from across the county together to help kids learn how to bike safely. Each year this event is possible thanks to community volunteers and this year, we need you! Over twenty volunteers are needed to make this event happen and there are still many roles available.

Boys 10-run McGregor

The Vikings received strong pitching from Hunter Gomez, and the bats came to life against the McGregor Mercs in a game played at home on Monday, May 6. The Vikings beat the Mercs 14-4, ending the game in the bottom of the fifth inning. The Vikings scored seven runs in that inning and looked to continue scoring when the game was called.

Track results from the Two Harbors meet

Just like baseball and softball some of the scheduled track meets have been cancelled due to inclement weather. One meets that came off as scheduled however was the April 30th track meet at Two Harbors. Below are the top ten Viking finishers for the boys’ and girls’ track teams.

Girls shut out McGregor, fall to Cromwell

The Cook County girls' fast-pitch softball team made short work of the visiting McGregor Mercs softball team, handing their guests a 19-1 loss on Monday, May 6. It was a game of collective effort and unity for the Vikings.

Pickle Ball camp starts this week

The spring Junior Pickleball Camp for Grades 3-5 will begin Monday, May 13th. The camp was pushed back a week in hopes of having better weather.

Boys lose to the Cromwell Panthers

The CCHS boys' varsity baseball team traveled to Cromwell on Thursday, May 2. They faced a hot pitcher who allowed two hits and one run over six innings, and the Vikings fell 8-1.
