School Board Meeting The School Board of I.S.D. 166 will meet for a Regular School Board Meeting Thursday, February 15th, 2024 at 5:00 pm, in the Jane Mianowski Conference Center, 101 West 5th Street, Grand Marais, MN.
After interviewing two architectural firms, the school board chose DSGW to work on plans to improve the school and school grounds. The school board was impressed with DSWG's work and attention to adding indigenous design elements into their designs.
At the January 31 meeting, Council agreed to hire McGough Entity / McGough Construction Co. LLC, who will work with the architectural firm of LHB, Inc., to handle the teardown/ rebuild and redesign of the Grand Marais City Hall and Municipal Liquor Store.

Local photographer Bryan Hansel will present on his ten-day gravel-grinding adventure The Grand Marais Public Library will host a presentation from Bryan Hansel on his bikepacking tour, on Wednesday, February 21, from 7:008:00 p.m.. Hansel will take the audience on a visual journey along his October 2023 bikepacking adventure across the proposed Minnesota Border-to-Border Touring Route— the Off-Road Vehicle Route rejected by Cook County.
Four Musicians from the Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra to play at the library The Grand Marais Public Library is excited to host four musicians from the Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra for an evening of music, entitled “Love through Music,” on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2024 from 6:007:30 p.m. The DSSO is sending four fantastic musicians to play a variety of classical music composed as early as the Baroque to as late as the Modern era, with composers ranging from Handel to Piazzolla.
