5-Ingredient Blender Chocolate Cake
Ingredients - 4 cups crispy chocolate cookies (10oz bag) - 1 tbsp baking powder - 1 1/2 cup whole milk Ingredients for Glaze - 2 cups powdered sugar - 3 tbsp milk Instructions 1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and spray your Bundt pan or donut pan with non-stick spray then set aside.
Apple Blender Cake
Ingredients - 2 medium apples, see note 1 approximately 2 ½ cups when peeled, cored and cut into ½ inch cubes - Blend the ingredients in the exact order stated in the recipe. Always start with the wet ingredient.

Seeds have taken root I cannot stop gardening. We are in the dogs’ days of summer and the early spring cold crops – radishes and beets and lettuces - are coming to an end.

Celebrate August! It’s almost here! After a couple of stressful weeks, it’s time to look forward to August. Grand Marais has the Fisherman’s Picnic the first full weekend of the month.
BEYOND Reason
Summer Reads One of my favorite summer activities has to be The Summer Read. Everywhere you look someone wants you to read something: billboards; menus; pamphlets.
Pet of the Week
This beautiful creature is Clio, and she was Jane Burley’s wonderful companion during their years together on the big lake in Croftville. Clio was gentle, playful, and curious. Jane Burley named Clio after the Greek Goddess Muse of History and Poetry.
Happy Hikers next trek is to Carlton Peak, August 2
Back by popular demand, the Happy Hikers will hike the Superior Hiking Trail section to Carlton Peak. Beginning at the Britton Peak trailhead, we will travel along wooden walkways, a spruce plantation and maple forest. The trail travels by high rock walls to Ted Tofte Overlook. We will then continue through the woods to the top of Carlton Peak. We will enjoy our lunch at the top, and then turn around and hike back down. Wellbehaved dogs are welcome, on a leash.
