'Tori's Treats' is a student-run business offering healthy snacks for teachers every Friday. Managed by Tori Pringle, the business provides students with hands-on experience in budgeting, baking, customer service, hiring, and developing key skills in entrepreneurship, problem solving, teamwork, and time management.

Cook County I.S.D. 166 special education teacher Melissa Oberg, known for her exceptional dedication and innovative teaching methods, was recently featured in the April edition of the American School Board Journal, an award-winning magazine published four times a year in February, April, August, and October. The April 2025 issue of the ASBJ, a publication that reaches over 90,000 school board members and administrators, celebrated the achievements of the Magna Award winners. Among them was Melissa Oberg, the 2024 National Rural Teacher of the Year, a title that underscores the profound impact of her work in the field of special education.

In my role as District 4 County Commissioner, I serve on the Airport Advisory Commission. Over the last five years, I’ve learned a great deal about airport operations, the benefits of our airport to residents and visitors, along with changes in the industry and aeronautical needs for Cook County today and into the future. Before gazing into the future, it requires that one have some background information on our current airport.
