Lonnie Dupre to give presentation Greenland: Where Ice is Born at North House Folk School

In January 2025, North House Folk School launched a new series of gatherings called First Fridays. It’s a program that welcomes everyone to campus on the first Friday evening of each month through May. Whether it’s a contra dance, a game night, or roasting s’mores over the fire, each event has offered the chance to come together as a community for a night of free, all-ages fun.

Solar Light & Phone Charger Kits for Ukraine

The ongoing war in Ukraine has left many citizens without electricity, and country-wide rolling blackouts are now the norm. The nonprofits, New Horizons Foundation-USA (MN) and New Vision Renewable Energy (WV), have been working to provide Ray of Life Solar Light kits to help families in Ukraine. These Solar Light Kits will provide Ukrainians with a renewable light source for their homes. It also provides a way for them to charge their cell phones. As of March 2025, over 1000 light kits have been delivered directly to citizens in Ukraine that live in areas impacted by the Russian bombing.There are two upcoming opportunities to be involved.

COUNTY CONNECTIONS

For the past several years, Veterans Day on the Hill (VDOTH) has provided a means to demonstrate our strength as Veterans, families, and supporters of Veterans. VDOTH is open to all Veterans and supporters, and no membership in any organization is required.
